The Fall Bucket List

It's autumn once again - my favorite time of the year.  It's my daughter's favorite season, too.  "Mom," she said. "I have a bucket list of things I'd like to do for fall."

"Okay," I said.  "What's on it?"

"Carve a pumpkin, make apple pie, get a fall-scented candle, make a fall drink, make Halloween cupcakes and cookies, pick apples, make caramel apples, go on a hayride, have a Halloween party, and visit a haunted house."

"Hmmm," I said.  "That's quite a list."

"Yeah, mom.  So you'd better get started.  Here's a list of ingredients and things you need to buy." She handed me a sheet of paper.

I looked at it and shook my head.  Why do I have this suspicion that her bucket list is really a Mom To-Do list?

    1. Let's see. I've done the fall candle, the caramel apples, and have gotten ingredients for the other things. I'm off to a good start. ;)

  2. Hey, just the fact that she's that determined and ready to go? That's super awesome. You've got a go-getter on your hands.

  4. Hand the list back to her and tell her where she can get the things she wants.

    1. Should I make her walk five miles to the store, too? ;)

    2. Only if you feel completely confident that the area is safe. Can she maybe ride a bike to the store? That's good experience if she doesn't have to deal with a lot of traffic. She could use a messenger bag to bring home the goods, except for the pumpkin she wants to carve. That, she can balance on her head.

    1. And my grown-up babies know it. But they also know they have my love no matter what.

  8. Whoa, that list is long! Autumn is my favorite season, too, so I don't blame her for wanting to take advantage of it while it's still here... :P

    1. Those are all fun things to do. I think I'll add apple picking to the list. Which reminds me - I need to see if they have such a thing in Georgia.

  9. My Fall Bucket List consists of washing the window fans.
They'll probably not get cleaned, though.
In which case, I'll probably put them up dirty in May.
I think I'll go get a pumpkin pie blizzard, instead.
