Answers to 18 Truths Blog Fest and Nut Job

I bet you are sitting at the edge of your chairs wondering which statement I gave during the 18 Truths Blog Fest was a lie.

Here they are again.

1.  I was almost run over by a train.
2. I've zip-lined through a rain forest in Costa Rica
3. I've swam in shark-infested waters

The answer?  #2...  I have not zip-lined through a rain forest in Costa Rica.  Although I'd like to.  It's on my bucket list.  Anybody want to join me?

(For the record - I was almost run over by a train in Germany when I was foolishly exploring a train tunnel.  I hadn't realized that trains actually do run on a regular basis over there, and I barely got out before the train came rumbling through.  As far as the shark-infested waters - I was a SCUBA diving instructor in my past life (before kids). I did shark feeding dives in the Bahamas, and not only swam with them, but fed them.  (Don't try doing this at home - you need a special suit!))

So now you're all thinking I'm a real nut job.  And do you know what?  You're right!

Here's my latest nut job story:

My nine-year-old son and I went to the theater to see the movie, Nut Job.  I think it was produced by the same dude who sings Gangnam Style.  Throughout the movie, the squirrels and other park creatures danced to the tune.  At the end of the move,  an animated Psy did the dance.

My son looked at me.  I looked at him.

And do you know what we did?  We got up and started dancing, too!

Since we were in the front, and everybody saw us, they all decided that would be a terrific thing to do.  Before you knew it, the whole theater was on their feet during the credits, doing the Gangnam Style dance!

  1. You can add dance instructor to that list!
Hey, if you've ever swam off the Carolina coastline, you are indeed swimming in shark infested waters.

    1. Dezzy says Nut Job 2 is coming out in 2015. Maybe we can make a date and meet at the theater. Then we can dance together! ;0)

  5. You both helped everyone have extra fun. I had an aunt who loved to dance. One of her daughters told me her mom would do the same thing, whenever there was music in the movie!

  8. I've done two and three (we'll maybe not shark infested, but certainly water with sharks) and I've been in a train wreck! The zipline was okay, but it was really neat to be in the top of the canopy in a rain forest.

    1. I would love to have that experience (being in the top of the rain forest canopy.) The train wreck experience was probably not fun at all!

    1. Maybe not the whole theater, but certainly a lot of people who did have the guts to do it! Sometimes you just have to be a little crazy!

    1. Most people have not swam in shark-infested waters. Or if they have, they aren't alive to tell about it!

  12. So that was the best story ever. lol

I guessed #1, even though I almost was hit by a train once, too. My sister ziplined in Costa Rica, and the shark-infested waters one seemed true because people do it. lol It was a toss-up, really. ;)

  14. You made me laugh at the part where you wrote, "you'll need a special suit."

  15. I think I'd rather have zip lined over swimming with sharks be a truth for me. I think sharks are cool, but no desire to jump in with them. LOL

  16. Sounds like you and your son had a great day out. : )

  17. Now I know where Bubba gets it from. Glad you survived the train mishap. :-)

  18. I almost went snorkeling in shark infested waters. When I was pregnant with our older son, we went to Grand Cayman. After a few minutes, I felt sick and returned to the boat. Later my husband told me that I just missed seeing the baby sharks. It's a good thing that I did, because my bout of sea sickness would've definitely caught their attention. This game was a lot trickier than I thought it would be. Cute story with your son!
