Versatile Blogger Award

Kristen Smith nominated me for the Versatile Blogger Award.  Thank you so much, Kristen!

I have received this award many times, and shared things about me.  This time I'm going to do something a little different.  I'm going to share some things on my bucket list.  Here's what I want to do, that I haven't yet done:

1.  Sky dive.  (I almost did it this summer, but the weather wasn't so good.  I didn't think it would be a great idea to jump out of an airplane in the middle of a thunderstorm!)

2.  Zip-line (ideally through a Costa Rican rain forest.)

3.  Go white water rafting.

4.  Dive the Great Barrier Reef.  (Can you believe I haven't done that?)

5.  Set foot on all the continents.

6.  Visit all fifty states.

7.  Learn to speak French fluently.  (I can read a fair amount, but I'm really pathetic when it comes to speaking it!)

8.  Watch a shuttle launch.

9.  Learn to tango.  (I like to dance.  Trouble is, I don't have a partner to dance with.  Any volunteers?)

10.  Ride a Gondola in Venice, Italy.

11.  Ride an elephant. (I don't know why, but this seems like a cool thing to do.)

12.  Go on an African Safari.

13.  Visit Machu Picchu.

14.  Tour the White House.

15.  Take a helicopter ride over Kauai.

16.   See a performance at the Sydney Opera House.

17.  Hold a  Koala bear.

18.  Visit Area 51 and see if there are really aliens there.

19.  Visit Mount Rushmore.

20.  Tour the Neuschwanstein Castle.

I'm not tagging anyone, because I'm obviously not following any rules on this game.  I think you're supposed to list 15 things about yourself, and then tag 15 people to do the same.  If you want to do that, go ahead.  Or if you want to do my version, feel free.

What's on your bucket list?

  1. You never rode an elephant as a kid?
Hopefully we'll see another shuttle launch someday or you might not hit that one.

    1. I've ridden a camel in Israel, but not an elephant. I hope there is some kind of launch in the future. I've seen them on TV, but not in person. It would be exciting to hear that rumble and see it go up in person!

  2. Cool bucket list. I don't have the courage to jump out of a plane and ziplining is probably out as well. I have, however, always wanted to visit Sweden, so hopefully I will someday!

  3. I don't have a bucket list. I have a small set of goals. I think your list is very daring. When you tour the White House, do you want to see the whole place? Do you want the Obamas to invite you to the family quarters? If you would be content with a holiday experience, we toured the White House at night during December. George H.W. Bush was president. The theme for the tree was The Nutcracker. It was snowing so the line was short and moved quickly. I always think of that as a magical night. Around every corner was a small choir or a string quartet or some other maker of beautiful music. You would love it.

    Love,
    Janie

    1. I don't need to see the Obama's private quarters. I would be quite content to see the White House in December, when it's all decorated for Christmas. The music sounds wonderful, too. I'll have to make a point of seeing it around Christmas! Thanks for sharing your experience. It sounded lovely!

  4. Congratulations, Sherry!

I would be too scared to ever sky dive, and going to Venice, Italy is one of my dreams. :)

    1. I'm a little crazy, so sky diving would be an awesome adrenaline rush. And you absolutely have to ride the gondola in Venice. Those things in Vegas aren't quite like the real thing!

  5. Nice list. I thought "Your mama don't dance, and your daddy can't rock and roll". ;-)

  6. That is a really nice list. So many interesting things you'd like to do. I'd like to step foot on all continents too.. not brave enough to Sky dive! any kind of diving makes me nervous..Wow

    1. I wouldn't want to dive into a pool from a really high dive board. And I wouldn't want to dive off a cliff into a body of water. But sky diving sounds pretty cool, as long as the parachute works!

  8. I think the cool thing is that you'll be able to mark of some things at once. Like when you go to Africa, you can go on a safari and ride an elephant! Apparently, I rode one when I was 2 and had a great time.

    1. Too bad you were so young and can't remember your elephant ride. Yes - a trip to Africa and a trip to Australia could cover a few of those things on my list!

  12. I love you list. The closest I would probably get to sky diving is to jump off the three steps of my front porch (-:

  13. Sherry, CONGRATS on your award. That is quite a bucket list. You are a brave/adventurous person. I don't have a bucket list, but now I wonder what I would put on it. I think you've started a new way to share/pass on the versatile blogger award.

    1. Maybe we should have a bucket list blog hop, just to see the kinds of things people would want to do.

    2. I was thinking the same thing after I left my comment. Would you like to be a co-host with me? I think it would be fun. Let me know.

  14. It's always fun to see what people want to do. You might be a bit late for the space shuttle, but there are many on your list I've done and others that I'd like to do.

    1. I'm bummed about the space shuttle, but I'm hoping that some other sort of space vehicle will be launched. I bet you've done quite a few on my list. You're an adventurous one!

  16. Like your bucket list Sherry, quite a few are on my list too: like white water rafting, sky diving, riding a Gondola in Venice.
I have ridden an elephant, camel and a horse, so they are not on my bucket list.

  17. Congratulations on the award. I loved seeing your bucket list too. Lots of exciting times ahead of you :)

  18. Excellent choices. I want to do many of these myself -- definitely holding a koala is on my list. And a penguin too.

  19. Awesome list! Some of these are on my list to do as well!

  20. Impressive bucket list! I'd never be brave enough to do most of these things, heh.

  23. Riding an elephant is an amazing experience. So is white water rafting (and I can't even swim). I'll pass on sky diving, though!

    1. I feel like I've missed something, not riding an elephant when I was a kid. I definitely have to remedy that!

  24. I'd like to do 5, 6, and 8. I'm iffy on the sky-diving. Sometimes I want to do it, sometimes not.

  25. Congratulations on the award! Great list!

  26. My husband and I are already planning a whitewater rafting trip on the Colorado at the Grand Canyon for next year. Maybe I'll see you there!

    1. That's exactly where I'd love to go to white water raft! When are you going?

  27. That's quite a list! You should definitely hit Australia first, where you'll be able to tick off a number off those things. Done the Great Barrier Reef and it was spectacular.
