Brave Mama and a Give Away

Yesterday, I took my daughter, along with four of her teenaged friends, to the store. It was an adventure. We had to stop every three seconds so the girls could take photos of all the things they found interesting, so they could share them with their friends on Instagram. And of course there were all the selfies. My goodness!

When we finally made it to the check out, the cashier looked at me and smiled. "You are a very brave woman to go out with all these teenagers!"

Yes, I am. I should get a medal!

(When we got home, the chaos continued. The girls raided my kitchen and made cupcakes, all while singing and dancing to Christmas music!)

I don't know if I will be posting again before Thanksgiving. So I'd like to wish each and every one of you a very Happy Thanksgiving!  Thank you so much for being my blog buddies!

As my little way of saying thanks, I'm going to give away two copies of my newest book, Ten Zany Birds, and one copy of my book, That Mama is a Grouch. (If anyone is interested in That Baby Woke Me Up, AGAIN, I'll include a copy of that, too.) Just leave a comment below and let me know which, if any, you'd be interested in. I'll announce the winners next Monday.

Today, as part of my book tour, my book has been reviewed by Chat With Vera. She thought it might be nice if I wrote some music to go with the text. What do you think? You can visit her site to read the rest of her comments.

    1. It's ridiculous! I think kids are way too self-absorbed these days.

  7. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, too! I've won one of your books previously, so no entry for me. And don't get me started on the selfie or snapchat story thing. These kids are growing up in a completely different universe (not just world) than we did. I feel so foreign at times when I'm hanging out with my older kids.

  8. I would be interested in any of the books. My Godson is four months old and about to start crawling, and wearing 9month-12month clothes!!! We're spending so much time and money on clothes and diapers that preparing for books hasn't been a thing yet haha.

I see a lot of teens take pictures at the mall too. EVERYTHING must be documented. I've accidentally stepped into so many pictures that it's kind of sad. I hope I at least look decent in them!

  9. What is it with teenagers and all the selfies? It's like they have to document every moment of their lives.

  10. Brave of you indeed. To think its about all Mr T can do to take me shopping. I think having four teenage girls in tow would be more than he could cope with.

Whilst I'm delighted to have copies of That Mama and Ten Zany Birds Little Plum, Elf and I would love a copy of That Baby Woke Me Up AGAIN especially as with a new baby (Half Pint) in the family the two boys are frequently heard to shout these very words.

If my son's phone battery is low, he will use my phone to post to Instagram (-:
Add me to the drawing for Ten Zany Birds.

  15. You did well to manage them! Girls have got a thing about cupcakes. We went away last weekend, leaving our three girls (two teenagers and a 7-yr-old) to look after the dogs and the house. They not only did a great job, we got back on the Sunday to find them baking us a batch of cupcakes. It was a very cute surprise!

I'd love a hard copy of Ten Zany Birds for my youngest, but I'm not sure if you can ship to the UK? Anyway, thanks for the great giveaway and Happy Thanksgiving!

  16. I see this outside and in the hallways of my school. Selfies all over the place. They even borrow their friends' phones to take pictures.
