Schultz and the Wrapping Paper Incident

In case you don't know, Schultz is our hundred pound German Shepherd. He likes to chase things. Especially cats. So when he saw a roll of wrapping paper on the ground that had cute little cats in Santa hats, he knew he had to chase them.

It began with him trying to tear them to shreds.

Then the paper unrolled - all the way across the family room floor. He pounced on the paper, trying to stop the perceived fur ball invasion. The ordeal ended when the wrapping paper was nothing more than a few slobbery shreds.

"Are you pleased with yourself, Schultz?" I asked, after witnessing this nonsense.

He wagged his tail and trotted off.

Apparently he was. Mission accomplished.

  1. Hi, Sherry!

Our dog Toto loved the excitement of Christmas. When it came time for the family to unwrap presents she was Little Miss Nosey, poking her proboscis into every package, assuming they were all for her, and tearing at the pretty paper. Your story about Schultz brought back happy memories of the 14 Christmases Toto enjoyed with us.

    Happy holidays, dear friend!

      Happy Holidays to you, too!

  4. That's funny! I hope that roll was the only one with cats on it... Maybe buy a more pc paper (nothing that could antagonize your doggy) from now on. lol

I wish you and your family Merry Christmas and a peaceful and prosperous 2016! :)

    1. Yes. Usually it is the cats that are chasing things like that. Our cat has no interest in such things - just our nutcase dog!

  9. Leave it to Schultz not to let a cat go unpunished.

  12. My cats will do nothing more than chew the ends of rolled wrapping paper. I've never seen one in shreds. Schultz seemed satisfied.
