A Cure for Everything

Before I begin my story, I want to let you all know that I'm giving away copies of each of my three books (That Baby Woke Me Up, AGAIN, That Mama is a Grouch, and Ten Zany Birds). If you're on Facebook, you can follow this link, and it will take you to the page where the giveaway is. Just leave a comment for your chance to win. The giveaway will be up through Sunday.

And now for the story.

"Mama," my twelve-year-old son said. "I'm going to invent a cure for everything."

"You are?" I asked. I couldn't wait to hear about this.

"Yes. Do you know how?"

"I have no idea."

"I'm going to take every vaccine that was ever created, and mix them together. It'll be a super vaccine."

I raised my eyebrows. "You're sure that would work?"

He nodded. "Pretty sure. But I'd test it on chipmunks just to double check."

Okay. I think Alvin and the gang had better run. My mad scientist has big plans!

(I wonder if it would cure hiccups.)

  2. Hi, Sherry!

I love how your son Bubba always thinks big. Clearly he is well on his way to becoming an entrepreneur. Please inform Bubba that I would like to step up to the plate and proudly volunteer to be his first human guinea pig. :)

Have a wonderful weekend, dear friend Sherry!

  4. Somehow, I see this becoming some sort of super virus that could destroy the world... Okay, too much 12 Monkeys for me.

    1. Maybe he thought it was time to let another creature be a guinea pig. Rats and monkeys are used way too much. Yes, it is a good goal to have!

  10. Who knows? I might really work! But I agree chipmunks in your area better keep a low profile, just in case...

  17. Lol, that's hilarious! You'd be so ill after taking that vaccine, ha ha. The hiccup cure is all in the breathing, to realign your diaphragm again.

    1. I've heard that you should push your fist into your stomach just under the diaphragm and hold your breath as long as you can. I haven't tried that, but next time I have hiccups, I'll see if it works.

  18. Yikes! That sounds scary--for the chipmunks. I could use a good cure for hiccups though.

  19. I'm not sure the chipmunks would be a 'go' for that, but it would be interesting to watch your son try. LOL Honestly, I love his thought process though. He wants to help people. Nothing wrong with that.
