Ranch-flavored Cat

Our cat, Bootsy, was practicing bad table manners, again. This time it was with me. As I sat at the picnic table, eating my sandwich, the cat jumped up onto the table and sniffed my sandwich. I yanked it away, but not before some of the ranch dressing that was in it dripped on to the cat's head.

I tried to get it off, but Bootsy wouldn't sit still to let me do it. "Fine," I said. "You can run around with ranch dressing on your head."

Which is what he did, until our hundred pound German Shepherd came out to play. Schultz picked up on the ranch scent right away. He walked over to the cat, gave him a sniff, and licked off the dressing.

(Good thing Schultz wasn't hungry, or that cat might've been Schultz's dinner!)

Before I go, I would like to share a promo video that was made for the anthology, The Thing That Turned Me. The release date has been pushed to the end of August, but you can see this video now. In it, I tell you a little about myself and the piece that I wrote for the anthology.

    1. Better to have Schultz lick him than to have red ants crawling all over him!

Dogs are the ultimate vacuum cleaners, even from a cat's head.

  4. You can always rely on a dog to clean food off of a cat. The dog usually knows it makes the cat nervous.

  7. I'm surprised the cat didn't freak out with the dog licking... Congratulation on your upcoming published piece (the chair makes it look like you have angel wings when I saw it on a small screen, lol)

    1. I borrowed my daughter's fuzzy chair. I needed something low to the ground that would work with the tripod camera. That's funny you thought it looked like angel wings!

  8. I do ever so fancy the stories with Bootsie as the lead star. My cat would probably lick himself not letting the dog get the tasty treat

    1. Bootsy would have had to lick his paws, then wipe off his head with his paws. Schultz made it a lot easier.

  9. Like Dezmond above our cats would probably have contorted themselves into goodness knows what positions in order to get to the dressing.

  15. Hi, dear Sherry!

Seems Schultz and Bootsy have achieved a symbiosis. Maybe next time Schultz needs a bath, Bootsy can save you the trouble by giving him a thorough tonguing. :)

You are a smart and articulate woman, Sherry, and it shows in this video clip promoting your written contribution to The Thing That Turned Me. It sounds like a must read anthology.

Enjoy the rest of your week, dear friend Sherry!

    1. It would be very nice if Bootsy would reciprocate Schultz's kindness, but I don't think that's going to happen.

Thank you for your kind remarks regarding the video!

Wishing you a wonderful week as well.
