A Lifetime Supply of Astronaut Ice Cream

"Mama," my twelve-year-old son said. "Can I enter a sweepstake to win a lifetime supply of astronaut ice cream?"

I shook my head. "Dude, when you enter a sweepstake, you get put on a mailing list. And then you have a lifetime supply of spam."

"But it's worth it," he argued.

"Why?"

"Because if I win, and I'm ever homeless, I'll always have something to eat!"

Before I go, I'd like to thank everyone for all the well-wishes for my recital. It went very well, and the audience was so complimentary and appreciative. It's always nice to play for people like that! Here's a picture from it:

  1. Hi, Sherry!

Gosh, you looked lovely that night. I'm happy to know you brought the house down with your virtuosity. :)

As for Bubba, he's a smart kid who likes to plan ahead. Win or lose, he comes out on top. If he wins the sweepstakes, he gets a lifetime supply of ice cream. If he loses, he gets a lifetime supply of spam - the canned meat product that has fed generations. He won't go hungry. :)

Enjoy your weekend, dear friend Sherry!

  2. So glad to hear the recital went so well! Yeah!

Has your son eaten astronaut ice cream? I don't know that I would want a lifetime supply... Of course, if zombies ever take over the world- or something like that- he would have food. lol

    1. He has eaten astronaut ice cream. So, I can't understand why in the world he'd want a lifetime supply of it!

    1. I don't think he won. So I guess he has to be happy with a lifetime supply of SPAM.

  8. Well, that's planning ahead at least. Is that ice cream that can be eaten in space? Congrats on the recital!

    1. Yes. It's dehydrated ice cream. Not very tasty.

  11. I used to sell astronaut ice cream at a novelty store I used to own. It wasn't the best stuff in the world, and it wasn't the worst. But if you taste it once you probably don't feel the need to have any more. It might be fun to pass out to friends, but it's not worth the spam.

    1. I don't know anyone. But if someone did, it had better be something they enjoy.

  14. If I had to live off astronaut ice cream, I don't think I'd last very long. Now if it were Ben and Jerry's Chocolate Fudge Brownie, on the other hand, that might be worth all the spam!

Y is for the Yellowstone Conspiracy

    1. I think they don't realize how annoying spam is until they get about 300 emails a day.
