"Mom," my twelve-year-old daughter said. "Can you get some horse shampoo?"
I raised my eyebrows. "Horse shampoo? Why do we need horse shampoo? Last time I checked, a horse wasn't part of our menagerie."
"I need it for my hair."
"Your hair? Are you a horse?"
She scowled at me. "No, Mom. I'm not a horse. Horse shampoo makes your hair long and soft. I want long, soft hair."
I took a good look at her hair which falls half-way down her back. "I don't think you need any help in the long-hair department."
"I want it longer. And softer."
All right, then!
(I have not gotten horse shampoo for my daughter, but I did do a little research on the matter. If you'd like to learn about horse shampoo because you want long, soft tresses, read here.)
I've heard of the horse shampoo for people, because we used to use it on our horse's manes and tails before shows. It did work well for them, but not sure if I'd recommend it for people. I'm sure your daughter's hair is beautiful as it is.
ReplyDeleteI have my doubts that it would make a drastic improvement to human hair.
DeleteI think I'll stick with people shampoo.
ReplyDeleteAlthough, I do have dog shampoo that I should try on my son.
Ha! You know, I have some doggy shampoo, too. Maybe I should have my daughter try that!
DeleteI always wondered if that stuff worked. Not that I have long hair anymore.
ReplyDeleteIf she ever uses it, I'll let you know how it turns out. ;)
DeleteMaybe eating carrots and turnip like a horse would help too? :)
ReplyDeleteHa! Now that's a way to get her to eat her veggies!
DeleteWell as long as she doesn't start eating hay
ReplyDeleteLOL! Too funny!
DeleteActually, the shampoo and conditioner I used to buy for my horse is supposed to be good for humans too. In fact, when I needed it for my horse I usually bought it in the shampoo aisle of my local grocery store. It's called Mane n' Tail and it smells lovely :)
ReplyDeleteOkay then. Next time I go to the grocery store, I'll look for Mane n'Tail!
DeleteYour daughter sounds like she might be on to something! I love that you took the time to research it for her!
ReplyDeleteJulie
When she comes up with brilliant ideas like this, I have to see how good they really are!
DeleteI would have loved that at her age!
ReplyDeleteI had really long hair when I was a kid, but that was without horse shampoo. I wonder how long it would've gotten with some Mane n'Tail on it. ;)
DeleteI have actually used horse shampoo on my hair, and loved it. That was many moons ago when I was young, though~
ReplyDeleteHmmm. Good to know!
DeleteWhat's great is that you have a constant supply of funny material. A writer's gold mine.
ReplyDeleteThat I do! What am I ever going to do when my kids grow up and head off to college? ;)
DeleteHopefully, by then you'll have collected enough writing material to see you into retirement. These kids are gold.
DeletePut some shampoo in an empty bottle and use a permanent marker to write HORSE SHAMPOO on the bottle. Or tell her to buy it herself.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
You have the greatest solutions!
Delete*LOL* I do wonder if all the girls will be buying horse shampoo!
ReplyDeleteI think it's highly likely! LOL!
DeleteHorse shampoo and octopus balls, you are branching out
ReplyDeleteDefinitely getting experimental!
DeleteCute. I see Mane 'n Tail shampoo quite often. I think Target carries it.
ReplyDeleteI'll look for it next time I go. :0)
DeleteSorry for being behind with comments, getting my blog sorted.
ReplyDeleteAs usual I have a good laugh at the going on's at your house and family.
Yvonne.
I hope your blog problems get sorted out. I've missed your posts!
DeleteLOL. Where does she learn this stuff?? Is this the new fad?
ReplyDeleteIt has to be You tube!
DeleteLol. I have heard of people using Mane and Tail before, but I don't know how affective it is. I wonder where your daughter got the idea!
ReplyDeleteIt had to be from one of those fashion gurus on You tube!
