Chasing the Girls

My ten-year-old son came home from school with a Band Aid affixed to his chin.

"What happened?" I asked.

"Girl problems," he said.

I raised my eyebrows.  "Already?"

He nodded.  "They were chasing me on the playground.  I got sick of it, so I turned around and started chasing them.  But then something happened.  One girl collided into me, and we both fell down."  He rubbed his chin.  "This is from that."

"I see," I said.  "Girls can be a real pain.  Best to stay away from them. Forever!"

  1. This is only the beginning. Just wait until he catches one. (Without running into her of course.)

  5. I love it. What a funny kid.

PS: Regarding your comment, the lemon and chia bake great together. I bake with them all the time. Also good on top of breads and bagels.

    Cheers and boogie boogie.

  9. Kids are usually vulnerable to such consequences. They don't know the end - product and keep on playing, chasing etc.

  20. Happy Blitz Day! Funny how attitudes change over the course of years. It's too bad these changes aren't more in sync between boys and girls. That would sure save a lot of grief!

  21. Hi, Sherry! This story is so cute. I remember elementary school when boys and girls would chase each other on the playground. One of those silly boys is now my husband. So who knows–maybe that girl your son collided with will be your future daughter-in-law! ;)

Happy reading and writing! from Laura Marcella @ Wavy Lines

  22. I used to chase one boy in particular when I was in kindergarten. Never caught him though. Tell your son he'll have better luck when he stops chasing and starting talking to them... probably in a few years.

    Happy Blitz Day!
