It's official. The tooth fairy is fired! My son had lost one of his molars, and he put it in the special pillow for the tooth fairy to take. In the morning, he came downstairs with this news:
"Mama, the tooth fairy forgot, again!"
Oops.
"So, what should we do about this tooth fairy?" I asked.
"Fire her!" he answered without having to think about it.
I nodded. "Then who's going to collect the teeth and leave the money?"
"The tooth dinosaur."
(Hmmm. I wonder how quiet the tooth dinosaur can be!)
Too much, that Bubba.
ReplyDeleteHey Sherry - to answer your question: Because this is my work for the day, this is my writing, the same way that your fiction writing is your work. Only difference, we get to eat my writing (most times).
DeleteMaybe I should do what you do. Then my family would have a decent meal every day. ;0)
DeleteIt's great fun. How are you feeling? you mentioned not feeling all that great either.
DeleteI'm on day two of resting but gotta say, gettin' antsy.
Velociraptors are stealthy...
ReplyDeleteHmmm. A Ninja dinosaur!
DeleteI hate when I did this to my kids.
ReplyDeleteShe always left double the next night.
Dinosaur tooth fairies might be a bit loud...
When I'm so tired, I can't remember a darn thing! Fortunately, I was much better at my job when the kids were little and believed in the tooth fairy!
Deletesend him a T-Rex and he won't ask for it again
ReplyDeleteHaha! I'll try that.
DeleteI so love children and what they come up with! Good luck with the tooth dinosaur!
ReplyDeleteI'll let you know how it goes when he visits my house.
DeleteDon't fire the fairy.
ReplyDeleteNo? I think she needs to be fired. She's been doing a terrible job! ;0)
DeleteVery cute, but seriously, I might consider talking to him about always giving someone a second chance, even a forgetful tooth fairy. I say this because I was one of those forgetful tooth fairies too many times. :-)
ReplyDeleteNo mercy on the tooth fairy. We'll see if the tooth dinosaur can do a better job!
Deletetooth dinosaur? really?
ReplyDeleteYes. I think it's a great idea!
DeleteMy nephews would probably prefer the tooth dinosaur too.
ReplyDeleteBoys would love it!
DeleteI can just imagine the tooth dinosaur trying to tiptoe into the room! Bubba should have more patient with the Tooth Fairy.D
ReplyDeleteI happen to know the tooth fairy really well. She was not offended at all. She thinks the tooth dinosaur is a great idea, because that means more sleep for her! ;0)
DeleteMaybe he's talking about Grandma?
ReplyDeleteHaha! Right. That's it!
Delete*LOL* My son would love a tooth dinosaur too. :) I think you have the inspiration for a new children's book there.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I was thinking. And I've already started jotting notes for it!
DeleteThe dino would give the tooth fairy a rest at least, Schultz to the rescue
ReplyDeleteHaha! But Schultz might chase the tooth dinosaur off. We'll have to crate Schultz on the nights the tooth dinosaur is going to pay a visit!
DeleteYeah, been there, done that. I remember my daughter waking up and singing a made up song about me forgetting to play the tooth fairy role. When I asked her what I could do to make it up to her, she suggested us taking the train to San Francisco!
ReplyDeleteHaha! She's a clever one!
DeleteOh, well. Tell him to bring a tooth to you when it falls out. Then reach in your purse and hand him some money. He knows what's what.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Haha! But it's more fun to wait for the tooth fairy.
DeleteI never would have said to fire the tooth fairy because I wanted the cash either way!
ReplyDeleteYou're a smart one!
DeleteYour son is full of curiosity. he always wanted to try new things.
ReplyDeleteHe likes to challenge the system.
DeleteThe only thing that matters is that the job gets done :)
ReplyDeleteThat's right!
DeleteHe may lose more teeth with a dinosaur
ReplyDeleteYou have a good point! (I guess one visit would be all it would take for a tooth dinosaur. He wouldn't ever need to come back, again!)
Deletelol...good post :)
ReplyDeleteCute post. : ) I'm all for giving the tooth fairy a second chance.
ReplyDeleteWe'll see. No promises for the tooth fairy!
DeleteGeez. I'm sorry to hear the tooth fairy's job performance hasn't improved since my older son got ticked at her for forgetting him two nights in a row. Guess she must have tenure...
ReplyDeleteHaha! It's time for a new tooth creature. The tooth fairy has been around long enough!
DeleteOh my goodness ... it gets harder and harder!
ReplyDeleteThe tooth fairy has some tough clients!
DeleteI am sure she has been fired before, but she keeps coming back (maybe not consistently though). I hope the Tooth Dinosaur does a better job. Maybe he collects the teeth in a different spot in the house... (where he doesn't need to be so quiet). :)
ReplyDelete~Jess
Good idea. Maybe teeth can be left on the back porch. ;0)
DeleteLOL, poor tooth fairy. Maybe you can give her a second chance if the tooth dinosaur proves to be too noisy... ;)
ReplyDeleteMyabe. We'll have to see what kind of job the tooth dinosaur does.
DeleteHe didn't get the memo that the tooth fairy was on holiday. :) I wonder how the dinosaur will be like.
ReplyDeleteI think the dinosaur is a novel idea. I just wonder how he's going to get in the house. Do you think chimneys work?
DeleteSounds like a challenge -- but you'll need a cool costume, mos def.
ReplyDeleteHaha! I'd look so cute as a dinosaur! ;0)
DeleteMy vote is for a brontosaurus. With that long ol' neck, he could practically snag that tooth from the other side of the house!
ReplyDeleteHe'd be perfect as long as he's quiet!
DeleteI think that's the whole point, that more noise would be made!
ReplyDeleteYou'd definitely catch the tooth dinosaur in action!
