It's a balmy 13 degrees Fahrenheit in Georgia, where I live. I don't think temperatures get that low very often, here in the south. Yesterday, we even had some snow flurries. When my son got off the bus, the flurries were swirling around. Of course to kids, this is the greatest thing ever. "Snow!" they shouted.
I just wanted to get home. "Come on, Bubba, let's go. It's cold out here!"
But Bubba didn't want to rush. In fact, he wanted to go as slow as possible. I had walked ahead, trying to get him to move a little. When I turned around, Bubba was walking as slow as a snail.
"Dude," I said. "Pick it up a little!"
He shook his head. "No, Mama. You can't rush this. I'm enjoying my beautiful snow walk!"
(But poor Mama was a frozen Momsicle by the time she got home!)
It is really damn cold right now, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteIt sure is!
DeleteIt isn't that cold on this end of the state, but I can attest that our house isn't nearly as tight as the house we lived in Michigan was and if this house was in Michigan, we'd froze! Enjoy your snow, today is a beautiful blue sky day here.
ReplyDeleteI think the cold is coming your way. I agree - the houses down here are not built as well as northern houses.
Deletewow .. 'you cant rush this'?..he must have been very well wrapped up!!
ReplyDeleteHe had his fur-lined hat on. He was quite warm!
DeleteThat is why I stay indoors, no snow walk for me
ReplyDeleteIf I go for a snow walk, I have to have my ski clothes on!
DeleteWe're pretty frozen here in Michigan. I'd like to go on a snow walk like Bubba, but only if the snow is light and fluffy no, cold cold temperatures.
ReplyDeleteThe cold temperatures are what get you!
DeleteSnow is pretty, but I'd rather be watching it from indoors and have it all melt the next day. It's definitely been a bit too cold lately. When I went to work this morning, our temperature in VA was -1.
ReplyDeleteMy dad said it was -16 in Ohio. That's cold!
DeleteSnow is beautiful but 13 degrees cold is just cold!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of temperatures below 40 degrees. ;0)

ReplyDeleteYou have to play reverse psychology and tell him how much you want to enjoy the weather and hope he'll say, "Let's get home soon."
ReplyDeleteI'm posting reviews of your books on my blog and then I'll transfer them to Amazon. Finally.
Thank you! I appreciate that. I'll try your reverse psychology trick next time. ;0)
DeleteJust look at it this way Sherry, Spring is only weeks away.
ReplyDeleteThough it has been known to snow in the spring..
Hope it gets warmer for you soon.
I'm looking forward to Spring. Fortunately, in Georgia, winter doesn't last long.
Deletebut no snow and no cold in Georgia also brings tones of zombies....
ReplyDeleteYeah. The zombies are everywhere here! ;0)
DeleteFunny. I'll send ya' some real snow anytime. We love it, but there's plenty to share.
ReplyDeleteI miss the snow. When I lived in Cleveland, we always had a ton. Georgia is pathetic for snow fall!
DeleteWhen I lived in Georgia... back in the early '80's... we had a lovely cold spell with about 3 inches of snow. It was horrible.
ReplyDeleteThat happened last year. I thought it was great, but nobody else did. :0)
DeleteOh my! I would love some snow...and er..snow walk!
ReplyDeleteGo to Boston. They have plenty. ;0)
DeleteHow cute !
ReplyDeleteWe cannot rush them any more than we can slow them down.
That's right. It's good to slow down and enjoy things. Just not when it's freezing!
DeleteHe had to savor it
ReplyDeleteThat he did!
DeleteIf that happens again, shout, "Race you to the house" and take off running. Maybe he'll get moving.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
I doubt it. He's not one for racing. Hiding, yes. Racing, no.
DeleteHaving grown up in Georgia and having only seen snow once when Ilived there, I understand. We're having mild weather here on the west coast of Canada, likely due to our warm water currents. . .
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your mild weather!
DeleteAww! He's learning to just appreciate and enjoy nature. Of course, grown-ups know you can enjoy it from inside your house through a window!
ReplyDeleteBut it was worth it to see Bubba appreciate the beauty in the world God created. Treasure this!
ReplyDeleteLife & Faith in Caneyhead
Bubba has to enjoy everything, but poor Mama is freezing. We can relate. Below zero this week at our house, yikes!
