My family and I went out to eat at a rather pricey restaurant. Instead of getting something out of the ordinary, my son opted for a burger.
I looked at the menu. "Twenty-six dollars for a burger?" I said. "This had better be the best burger you've ever had in your life!"
The burger came. It was quite substantial, but in my opinion, not worth twenty-six dollars. My son ate about half of it. I shook my head. "Are you kidding?" I asked. "You're only going to eat thirteen dollars worth of a twenty-six dollar burger?"
He grinned at me, and picked up the remaining part of the bun. "Well, I could give you a bun in your hair. Then you'll have a thirteen dollar hair-do, which will make up for the part I didn't eat. That's cheap!"
Right. A great deal! Too bad I didn't take it.
That is one expensive burger! Your son also has a wonderful sense of humor!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't believe how much it was! Yes, my boy is a real comedian!
DeleteI thought he was gonna take it home for the cat of Schultz
ReplyDeleteBootsy prefers fish or chicken. Schultz might've enjoyed it, though.
DeleteI agree. That's a lot for a burger. Kobe beef, perhaps?
ReplyDeleteI think it was just because it was in a high-end restaurant.
DeleteNot a chance I would've let him order. No burger is worth that unless it was Kobe beef.
ReplyDeleteWe were on vacation, so that's the only reason I let him get it.
DeleteIt would be awful to pay $26 for a burger only for it to give you indigestion. Glad you didn't have a $13 haird do though.
ReplyDeleteYvonne.
I probably would've spent another $26 undoing the hairdo if I had let him do it!
DeleteHaha that is a great deal/what a cutie:)
ReplyDeleteA real bargain! ;0)
DeleteWow, that is a super expensive burger. Cheaper than many a haircut though lol
ReplyDeleteI had never seen a $26 burger. I'm still in shock!
DeleteI think I'd rather just ask for a to go box than where part of a burger in my hair. LOL

Yes. I don't think a burger in the hair would be a good thing!
DeleteHoly moly! That must've been one heck of a restaurant. But not as impressive as that hair accessory would've been! lol! Bubba!!
ReplyDeleteSupposedly, it was one of the best on Hilton Head. But the burger was definitely not worth that much!
DeleteYikes, I've never heard of a $26. burger! Only Bubba would think of using part of it to give you a new look!
ReplyDeleteLeave it to Bubba!
DeleteYour son is funny... however; I would have been wrapping the burger up and taking it home for his lunch lol... WOW... slightly expensive to say the least xox
ReplyDeleteIf we had been closer to home, that's exactly what we would've done.
DeleteYour son sounds so much like my daughter... only for her it was chicken tenders! Thankfully she has learned to enjoy things like shrimp and salmon as she's gotten older.
ReplyDeleteI think the fish was cheaper than the burger!
DeleteNow I am very curious about that burger. LOL
ReplyDeleteIf you ever visit Hilton Head, go to Red Fish. You can try it for yourself.
DeleteI'm pretty impressed he knew that hair can be put into a bun also. Albeit...not the same bun as a hamburger...
ReplyDeleteHis sister puts her hair in a bun all the time, so he knows all about hair buns.
DeleteI can't imagine what a regular entree would cost if burgers are $26!
ReplyDeleteThey ranged from $24 to $40. An expensive place for sure!
DeleteA bun in the hair. OK, it took me a minute to get it. He's good!
ReplyDeleteA real genius!
DeleteHahaha! That's so cute, Sherry! Have you heard of the $100 burger? I'm not kidding, but my friend tried!
ReplyDeleteA $100 burger? Seriously? No, I've never heard of it. Where did your friend go to get that?
DeleteYikes! That's an expensive burger!
ReplyDeleteSmart kid! Isn't there a $777 burger in Vegas or somewhere? No thanks.
ReplyDeleteA $777 burger in Vegas? That's crazy! I have to wonder how many people would buy it!
DeleteI think I'll pass on that burger
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts, too. I had the fish. Much better! And less expensive.
DeleteWow, that's an expensive burger. :-)
ReplyDeleteNo kidding!
DeleteLooks like you've got a real businessman on your hands there ;)
ReplyDeleteOr a politician!
DeleteOh, my gosh! I thought the title was a tease. Was the burger made out of unicorn meat? How can one burger cost $26.00? That is not a place where I can afford to eat.
ReplyDeleteScribbles From Jenn - Visiting from the A to Z Challenge
It was big! Who knows? Maybe it was made from unicorn meat.
Delete$26 for just a burger?! Starving artist me would never be able to afford that restaurant, haha.
ReplyDeleteI hear you! Good thing my husband isn't a starving artist!
DeleteNot sure how much $26 was in pounds sterling I had to Google it and discovered $25 was about £16.76. Interesting to know that for a wash, cut and blow dry (plus tip) my last trip to the hairdressers two weeks ago was £23.
ReplyDeleteI'd say the burger was definitely overpriced. Your trip to the hairdresser was a much better deal!
DeleteI'm not able to wrap my brain around that price tag.
ReplyDeleteWow, that's big and expensive. Surely you asked for a doggie bag.
