Friendly Car

We have a lot of pollen in the state of Georgia where I live.  It coats everything with a fine yellow powder - including our cars.

This morning, my car was coated with such a dusting, along with a fresh topping of dew.  My nine-year old son took one look at this and decided it would make perfect writing material.  He took his index finger and began writing all over my car:  "Hi y'all!", "Have a nice day, y'all!"  And of course there were plenty of smiley faces to go along with the friendly greetings.

So, ladies and gentlemen, if you happen to be driving around in Georgia, and you notice a particularly friendly-looking car, it's mine.  Just wave and have a nice day - y'all.

    Our pollen finally ended last week. Stuff gets into everything...

      It was ridiculous. It seemed like only a few hours after washing it, it was covered again.

    That son of yours is fitting in nicely with his new home. And it beats the snarky signs we see on cars. . . I would smile if I saw that car, and likely would know a kid's fingers made that message.

    Ahhhh yes, the spring pollen. I'm in Nashville and it's pretty bad here. I have a blue car, so it doesn't show as much as on a white car. It just mostly looks like dirt!

    Does pollen come first? Or spring? Because so far, we haven't had either. In fact, we still have the darn heat on today. Burrr.

    Sherry, I lived in Augusta for ten years and --- oh, the pollen. The first year I was there I made the mistake of leaving ALL of my windows open in the spring. It was so nice outside. I didn't need the air or the heat. I left the house and ran errands all day. I came home and EVERY SURFACE in my house was coated with that awful yellow dust. I could have cried. Instead, I spent the next few years dusting and vacuuming. Turns out there is NEVER a time you can leave your windows open in GA. Bah. Now, I live in FL and there are probably six days in the year that you can do it here;)

      I know what you mean. We keep our windows closed. It's too bad the dog brings it in after he's been outside. What a mess! (It was actually so bad, our wood deck looked yellow!)
