"Mama," my ten-year-old son said. "Can we get a pet tiger? Two of them?"
I looked at that kid. "Excuse me?"
"Tigers are cute. And they'd be good house guards," he explained.
"What about Schultz (our German Shepherd)? He's cute. And he's a good watch dog."
Bubba shook his head. "Schultz is too friendly. Tigers would do a better job."
Right. Does anyone know where I can get a "Beware of the Tiger" sign?
lol...your kid is smart :)
ReplyDeleteI have no idea where he came up with that one!
Deletelol Schultz would be tiger chow.
ReplyDeleteI think you're right. He might be able to handle one tiger. But two? No way!
DeleteYeah, no more Schultz!
ReplyDeleteThat wouldn't work!
DeleteWell...Bubba isn't exactly wrong, LOL. Might be hard to train a tiger to do what you want, though! XD
ReplyDeleteYou'd need a lot of treats!
DeleteAnd get a good trainer as well for tigers who don't devour their masters. Haha
ReplyDeleteTiger trainers are probably hard to find!
DeleteYou can always "Adopt" a tiger with the charities that appear on the TV.
ReplyDeleteThat's a thought. We've "adopted" animals through the World Wildlife Fund. Maybe we'll adopt a tiger through it.
DeleteWould really up the pet food bill
ReplyDeleteNo kidding! I'd hate to see how much having a pet tiger would cost!
DeleteTiger is one of the family of cat, so you can adopt cat instead of tiger.
ReplyDeleteWe have a cat - Bootsy. Bootsy would probably scare the tigers. He's pretty ferocious! :)
DeleteMe. 150% me. I used to BEG my mom to let me get a tiger. She would say no because it might eat me, so I said we could keep it in the backyard and I would just throw food out the door until it was full so then I could play with it. I also wanted it as a cub first so I could train it.
ReplyDeleteHaha! Nice logic! I'm assuming you never got a pet tiger. :)
DeleteHey you know what... If you could somehow train the tigers not to attack you, he may be onto something...
ReplyDeleteSure. Properly trained tigers would make excellent house pets. ;)
DeleteI know crime rate has gone up but I think dogs will still do for a "Watch dig". His concerns are genuine though. LOL
ReplyDeleteI'm not planning on getting rid of Schultz any time soon. So the tigers will have to wait!
DeleteYes. I couldn't have said it better!
ReplyDeleteTiger cubs are cute- though not much of a watch animal at that point. Once they are full grown they are too dangerous. They could keep all of you from entering your house! Maybe you can dress Schultz up as a tiger one day. ;)
ReplyDelete~Jess
He'd probably eat the tiger costume!
DeleteMakes sense! I sense a middle-grade story premise;-)
ReplyDeleteHmmm. I'll add it to my collection of ideas.
DeleteHahahaha! Makes sense.
ReplyDelete:)
