My son came home from school the other day and told me that an NFL (national football league) player was his substitute gym teacher.
"That's pretty awesome," I said. "It sound like he was probably way cooler than your regular gym teacher!"
"He was," said my son. "And I even got his autograph!" He pulled out a piece of notebook paper and showed me.
"That's special," I said. "Hold on to it."
"Is it going to be worth a lot of money?" he asked.
"It all depends. If the person becomes really famous, like Babe Ruth, it could be worth a lot of money."
He thought about that. "What if I get really famous?" he asked. "Will my autograph be worth a lot of money?"
I shrugged. "Possibly."
Then he grinned. "I know what I'm going to do."
"What are you going to do, Bubba?"
"I'm going to sign a bunch of things and give them to my kids. And then I'll get famous, and they can sell my autograph and make a lot of money!"
(That's what I call thinking ahead!)
Ha, I'm first at last. Bubba you are so smart. Just get out there and make your friends pay for your autograph now. :-)
ReplyDeleteDo you think they'd actually buy it? ;0)
DeleteThat sure sounds like a profitable plan
ReplyDeleteNow he just needs to do something to get famous.
DeleteReally far ahead! He didn't want to give any to you?
ReplyDeleteNo. I guess he figures I'll be dead by the time he gets famous. ;0)
DeleteThis post made me laugh. You one lucky mom. You get to experience this little guy every day. He's a treasure!
ReplyDeleteHe is certainly a character. Even his teacher wrote a note to him on the last day of school saying she hopes he never loses his great sense of humor and outlook on life.
Deleteat least he doesn't think he is famous already!
ReplyDeleteHaha. That could be a problem!
DeleteWhat a cutie! He has it all planned out. Sounds do-able to me! Have a great weekend! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks. You too!
DeleteThe wonder kid!
ReplyDeleteHe sure is!
DeleteSmart boy! Mommy ought to take note!
ReplyDeleteThe kids has some great ideas!
DeleteOn Ronald Reagan's last day in office, he wrote a letter to his grandson that would be his to keep or to sell if he so desired.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Haha! Great minds think alike!
DeleteI forgot to say that an NFL player bagged my groceries at Publix last year. It was some sort of charity event. I once had a professor whose student teacher in his high school gym class was Bruce Jenner, who was training for the Olympics. That guy hated Bruce Jenner with a passion.
ReplyDeleteLove again,
Janie
That is interesting.
DeleteDid you get the NFL player's autograph?
We had an NFL player (I think) visit one of my elementary schools one year. He basically gave a speech on being nice to people and that strength isn't about how min you can bench press, that there are many kinds of strengths. I had no idea who he was so I think I cared more about his words than the kids next to me who wanted his autograph.
ReplyDeleteSounds like he had a good message for the kids!
DeleteI'd rather have a picture with someone, you know, so you can show off that you actually met them. But that's just me.
ReplyDeleteI like pictures, too. But it's kind of nice to have the autograph.
DeleteHa! I love it! What a smart plan. :-D
ReplyDeleteThe kids is always thinking!
DeleteThis is why, whenever someone at a store gets smart alecky and asks for my 'autograph' when I need to sign I receipt, I tell them you'd better hold onto that, that's gonna be worth something some day.
ReplyDeleteHaha! The funny thing is, it probably will be worth something someday. ;0)
DeleteSounds like a good plan. I've encountered college football players subbing or becoming teachers, but so far no NFL.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how they managed to get an NFL player to sub, but I thought that was pretty cool.
DeleteSherry, he's so cute and thoughtful.... I love how he thought it through and came up with a viable plan xox
