"Mom," my twelve-year-old son said. "I need to save my money. I have some big expenses coming up."
I nodded. I figured his big expenses included a car. "You'll definitely need some cash for wheels in a few years."
Bubba looked at me funny. "I wasn't talking about a car."
"Then what were you talking about?"
"I'm saving money for a trampoline and a hot tub."
Oh. I'm so glad he has his priorities straight!
Does he plan to bounce right off the trampoline into the hot tub? In that case, he should probably save for a pool instead.
ReplyDeleteOr health insurance!
DeleteBwa-ha-ha! A trampoline and a hot tub.
ReplyDeleteI guess you're supposed to pick up the tab for his car.
If he's bouncing and lounging in a hot tub, he won't have time for a car.
DeleteA trampoline I understand, but a hot tub seems a little unusual for a 12 year old. But then Bubba seems to be wiser than his years. Maybe the trampoline is for him and the hot tub is for you.
ReplyDeleteI can only wish. ;)
DeleteLOL! Now that's a combination of expenses I didn't expect. :)
ReplyDeleteYou never know what he's going to come up with.
DeleteLol... that was funny... I like his choices.. good ones for him to enjoy xox (The hot tub is a really interesting one... haha)
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure why he chose hot tub, other than the fact that his dad had talked about getting one.
DeleteWell, at least he's not asking you to buy them for him.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good thing!
DeleteHi, Sherry!
ReplyDeleteBubba is Shady's kinda guy! He has his priorities in order. Why blow money on things like a car and a college education when you can use it to buy cool stuff for your man cave? :)
Enjoy the rest of your week, dear friend Sherry!
Right. Let somebody else worry about the car and education!
DeleteHave a terrific week, too!
he better start saving for them cars too
ReplyDeleteYes. He's going to need a lot of cash, especially if he wants to get one of those expensive sports cars he has his eye on!
DeleteWill mum be going on the trampoline? Great lad you have Sherry.
ReplyDeleteYvonne.
There's a place where you can pay to jump on trampolines. I've done that with Bubba a couple of times.
Deletelol have to enjoy life and less repairs with them than a car
ReplyDeleteRight. Who needs the aggravation of car repairs?
DeleteHA! Life must never be boring around your Bubba. His priorities may be surprising, but at least he knows what he wants, and better yet, he isn't bugging YOU to buy those things. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's a good thing!
DeleteHaha! He is dreaming big. ;)
ReplyDeleteThat's something he has always done!
DeleteA hot tub? That's something my kids never wanted.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
One less expense for you!
DeleteYes, it would be hard to muddle through your life without a trampoline and a hot tub. :)
ReplyDeleteI don't know how I've done it for so long!
DeleteA hot tub! LOL! Your kids really do say the most funny things, seriously! Trampoline I understand, but the hot tub, ha ha.
ReplyDeleteRaindrops of Sapphire
You have to have a hot tub to relax the sore muscles after all that jumping! ;)
DeleteThe trampoline I understand but the hot tub???
ReplyDeleteSee above comment. :)
DeleteSounds familiar. My daughter has a friend with a trampoline and a pool. She doesn't understand why we can't have these things too. Well, pools are a lot of work and we have too small a back yard for one. Trampolines have damaged and broken the bones of too many family members for me to want one in my yard. Sorry kid!
ReplyDeleteMy neighbor has a trampoline that she lets the kids jump on. I don't know why he feels he needs his own. And a hot tub? Who knows where that came from.
DeleteAt least he is saving for his own pool and trampoline. Maybe by the time he saves up enough he will want to put the money towards something else. He is funny. :)
ReplyDelete~Jess
I'm hoping he has the sense to save it for more useful things - like a car - so I don't have to drive him around everywhere. :)
DeleteHaha, yay for trampolines. Just wondering a hot tub? Perhaps to soak in, to soothe the muscles after all the jumping. :)
ReplyDeleteYou and I are on the same page. I thought of the sore muscle thing, too. That has to be it! :)
DeleteI wanted a trampoline as a kid. They looked like fun. Maybe the hot tub is for relaxation.
ReplyDeleteYes. It's tough being a kid. You need a hot tub to relax in after all that fun.
DeleteHahahaha!
ReplyDeleteLike Alex said, I immediately thought the trampoline was to vault into the hot tub.
ReplyDeleteHey, that's what I would've used it for!
DeleteA trampoline I can understand, a hot tub? Hmm, maybe but a car is perhaps going to take that bit longer to save for. Still, good on him for thinking big. At that age I seemed to remember saving for a rotastack cage for my hamster.
ReplyDeleteBubba sure has his priorities right. So cute. Thanks for sharing Sherry :-)
