I took my kids to the playground today while we had another showing on the house. Usually I'm the one standing around pushing my son on the swing. Today, I felt like swinging.
I parked myself in the swing and started pumping.
"Wait, Mama," Bubba said. "Let me push you!"
"You don't have to do that. I know how to swing," I said.
"But I want to."
"Okay." I let him push.
Five minutes later he was done.
"Do you think I'll be a good daddy someday?" he asked. "Because I'm a really good swing pusher!"
"Absolutely," I said. "You'll be fantastic!"
This made me smile Sherry, perhaps you don't know I have a weakness for children's slides. much to the embarrasssment of my family.....must get out more and find some new ones.
ReplyDeleteYvonne.
I remember the picture of you on the slide. I think it's great you still do that. I'm going to be just like you, playing on the slides, when I grow up! ;)
DeleteA good daddy knows how to push the swing and when to stop.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Bubba will definitely be a good daddy!
Deletehaha 5 minutes then let the kids play by themselves, way to be
ReplyDeleteHe knows just how long to do it!
DeleteAw. That's so cute! I didn't know little boys cared about being daddies. I know many older boys want anything but...
ReplyDeleteI guess he's planning ahead. ;)
Deletesure he'll make a great one
ReplyDeleteThat's the first prerequisite!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! Every daddy has to know how to push a swing. ;)
DeleteAwww! That is an important part, but more so that he was considerate enough to do it. :)
ReplyDeleteHe's a very thoughtful young man!
DeleteIt's remarkable that he'd even ask such a question at that age. Something tells me he'll be a fantastic dad some day, because he sure knows how to be a fantastic kid.
ReplyDeleteYou've got that right! ;)
DeleteAww! This is so sweet! :)
ReplyDeleteI thought so, too. It isn't every day your kid wants to push you on a swing!
DeleteCute and thoughtful... your boy is wise, beyond his years...

ReplyDeleteMy son comes up with some really cute things!
DeleteNice story!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteAh, that makes me smile that he's already thinking about the qualities needed for a good dad. :)
ReplyDeleteIsn't that funny?
DeleteBubba's the best! He's ready for his first full-sized adult-child. =]
ReplyDeleteHa!
DeleteAh...so sweet and adorable. Bubba is already thinking of the time when he will be a daddy!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice that he's thinking ahead!
