Happy Fall Ya'll! I hope you're enjoying the beautiful change of seasons wherever you are...if you have that sort of thing.
This month's IWSG question is, "What creative outlets do you have after writing?"
This is my creative outlet BEFORE writing: music. I am a professional musician. I perform a lot! It seems like every week I have a concert, which means I practice tons of music! I've also done some composing, but admittedly, I don't have much time for that these days. What about you?
Here's a recent photo of my performance with the Georgia Philharmonic.
Me, too! Professional musician. And that still just edges out writing.
ReplyDeleteI hear you. And that's what earns me the money.
DeleteDoes cooking, especially baking, count? I used to design and make embroideries, but my eyes got tired of fine "needling"
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! Cooking and baking are creative outlets.
DeleteI did know that about you. Music works different brain muscles, doesn't it? (I'm a lapsed musician, although I was never very good.)
ReplyDeleteYes. Music is supposed to be very good for the brain.
DeleteI wish I had the ability to play a musical instrument. It seems like a perfect creative outlet.
ReplyDeleteI had a 90 year old piano student once. She learned. So if you want to learn, it's never too late.
DeleteI'm not surprised you said music is another passion given how talented you are.
ReplyDeleteI saw that photo elsewhere - look at you!
ReplyDeleteThis has been quite a year of performing! I really feel like a rock star playing Bohemian Rhapsody.
DeleteI'm awed by your musical ability. You're really good.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteBoth are creative outlets, but exercising different parts of the brain. Performing releases endorphins.
ReplyDeleteIt does. When I was performing for 3000 people at DragonCon, I thought to myself, "I understand why rock stars do what they do!"
DeleteWow! Looks like a beautiful perfomance.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI always listen to your performances when you post link on FB Sherry. Such fabulous talent.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
