My kids must've been in a science mood yesterday. It all started with a trip to Subway.
"Can we get fountain drinks?" they asked.
I wasn't in much of a mood to insist that they drink milk, so I let them have a special treat.
"Guess what I got?" my daughter asked.
"What?"
"Half Sprite, half rootbeer."
I couldn't believe it. "Seriously?"
"Yeah, Mom, it's good."
"Guess what I got?" my son asked.
I couldn't wait to hear this. "What?"
"Half diet coke, half rootbeer."
It made me sick just thinking about it. "Is it good?" I asked.
"Delicious!"
Okay, then.
When we got home, the experimentation continued. "Mom, I need a ziploc bag, baking soda, and vinegar," my daughter said.
"What for?" I asked.
"I'm going to make a carbon dioxide man."
That sounded interesting, so I gave her the supplies. Here's what she came up with:
Isn't he cute? Unfortunately, he didn't have a long life. My daughter took him outside and fed his carbon dioxide to the trees. RIP Carbon Dioxide Man!
I need to remember this for my grandson :)
ReplyDeleteI'm sure he's enjoy this experiment!
DeleteScience experiments are fun with the kids. We had a book with many different projects to try.
ReplyDeleteFuture scientists?
We'll see if they become scientists. They certainly enjoy experimenting!
DeleteThat's cute! I bet my kids would love it.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure they would!
Deletehaha Carbon Dioxide Man even recycled in death.
ReplyDeleteHe's a real green guy!
DeleteMy sister used to mix sodas like that when we were growing up. I never understood it. I like my drinks as-is, heh.
ReplyDeleteAnd aw, Carbon Dioxide man is such a cutie! Hopefully he's having fun in Carbon Dioxide Heaven... XD
I never mix my drinks either. Maybe I'm just a big chicken, but I'm afraid mixing drinks will make me sick!
DeleteI'd like to try that Carbon Dioxide Man thing.
ReplyDeleteGotta be better than setting a bag of dog poop on fire.
Have you done that? ;)
DeleteMr. Carbon Dioxide is very funny and inventive. When I worked at A&W people used to order all the sodas mixed together. I forget what they called that but my husband says he used to drink it.
ReplyDeleteIt's a wonder they don't sell mixed drink combinations! Hmmm. Maybe that's an idea for a new product.
DeleteYour kids have a lot of imagination. I love it!
