Bubbles!

It's official.  I've completely lost my mind!  But you probably already knew that.

Here's the Mama's dumb move of the day:

I started the dishwasher this morning, as I usually do.  Everything seemed to go as it usually does.  Except about ten minutes later, I noticed bubbles coming out of the sides of the dishwasher.

Hmmm,I thought. What's wrong here?

I stared at the bubbles as they got bigger and bigger and oozed out onto the floor.

Then it dawned on me.  I had put Dawn liquid soap in the detergent containers, instead of dishwasher detergent!

I quickly stopped the machine and opened it up.  You don't even want to know what it looked like!  I muttered a few choice words and commenced bubble-popping operations.

An hour later it was cleaned up - but I seriously think I should be institutionalized before I cause the entire house to fall down!

    1. No. I was actually getting ready to write, and stopped to get a glass of water. Good thing I did, otherwise I would've never noticed it.

  3. Oh noooo! Dishwashers definitely don't like regular dishsoap. Eeek, sounds like quite a mess. :P Good thing you were there to notice.

    1. I'm glad I caught it, too. After the ceiling incident with my son, we didn't need any more catastrophes!

  5. You must be thinking about that next novel you want to write! Or it could be that April is nearing and you have signed on for the craziness of the A to Z!

    1. Ah. The A - Z challenge! I'll be a minion for it, but I may not sign up to do it because of my issues with time. We'll see.

  7. The Hurricane did that once – when she was about 12 years old.

    1. I'm afraid I didn't. I think those missing marbles are still floating around on the bottom of an asteroid in outer space. ;0)

  13. I would love to have seen that picture. What a mess but also a little funny. I don't own a dishwasher, and didn't know that the soaps were made different.

    1. Yes. Learn from me. Don't use dish soap in a dishwasher!

(How do you do all that baking and cooking without a dishwasher to help clean the messes? You must be in the kitchen all day!)

  15. I've done that before! Ah, the life of a busy, side-tracked, sometimes distracted mom! And then we clean up the mess and laugh about it :)
