Last night, there were a lot of kids over at my house. Everybody seemed to be getting along just fine, so I went about my business doing whatever it is I do.
A short while later, I heard screaming. And it seemed to be coming from outside. I had to investigate. What I found was a bunch of kids and a dog chasing a beam of light around the yard.
It was the flashlight game. Five kids and a very large German Shepherd (Schultz) were bumping into each other, in a crazed frenzy, trying to catch this light.
I shook my head and watched.
Ten minutes later, and completely exhausted, they all marched into the house.
"I supposed you all want a bowl of water now," I said.
Six panting creatures with their tongues sticking out looked at me expectantly.
So I put out five soup bowls and one very large dog bowl filled with water and let them slurp it up.
(Fortunately, it was only Schultz who dribbled the water onto the floor.)
Good gosh. That's wonderful.ReplyDelete
Another great memory!Delete
The light trick works on kids? You must remember that!ReplyDelete
It works on me, too. You wouldn't believe how much fun it is to chase a beam of light around the yard! ;0)Delete
They probably went home and fell asleep. Their parents must be so grateful to you.ReplyDelete
I'm sure they were - after the kids took a bath. They went home rather sweaty and stinky!Delete
Next time squirt them with some shower gel, hose them down, and then send them home.Delete
That's awesome yaa and m sure they must be happy to find you:)ReplyDelete
It's always a good time at my place!Delete
HA! It sound as if Schultz can be gentle while running. My kids chase the cat laser, but if they get in the way they get scratched.ReplyDelete
Schultz is really good with kids. As big as he is, he tries to be very gentle.Delete
I wish there was YouTube video of this :-)ReplyDelete
That would be funny. I never have a camera when these things are going on!Delete
So funny! I love it.ReplyDelete
The zoo creatures!Delete
I have to remember this when I babysit or have kids. When I was little, my dog and I would chase bubbles.ReplyDelete
Bubbles are fun, but flashlight beams are where the action is. Way more high speed and exciting!Delete
you know, those kids from Peter Pan had a dog for a nanny :)ReplyDelete
I guess there's a reason why. Dogs are way more fun than grown ups!Delete
That is a picture that would have been priceless! :) Too funny!ReplyDelete
They definitely liked their water bowls!Delete
Schultz now has them playing the game haha next they'll be barkingReplyDelete
Please don't say that! You'll give them ideas! ;0)Delete
Children are such that they don't feel tired until they'r at the butt of their energy. So, you did right at the end. Thanks.ReplyDelete
Kids seem to have an endless amount of energy!Delete
Sounds like fun. ; )ReplyDelete
They had a good time.Delete
Nice post :)ReplyDelete
Glad you enjoyed reading about the antics at my place!Delete
What a great and fun way to tire out a bunch of kids!!!ReplyDelete
Way better than sitting in front of the TV!Delete
That sounds like fun. You are such a cool Mom.ReplyDelete
Thanks. I kind of think I'm a little crazy!Delete
What a hoot!ReplyDelete
