The Mama Aura

"Mom, come here," my teenage daughter said. "Put your hand over this white paper and stare at the tip of your middle finger until you see a color."

I thought that was an odd request, but I complied. Two seconds later, I did see a color. "It's purple," I said.

Her eyes got big. "Purple?"

"Yes. Now what does that mean?"

"It's your aura."

I've heard of auras - the energy that surrounds a person. And I've heard they can be different colors, but I had no idea you could actually see your own. "Seriously?" I said.

She nodded. "Do it again."

I did. Still purple.

So, I bet you're wondering what purple means. It means that I am intuitive, artistic, magical, psychic, wise, matriarchal, and full of female energies.  How's that for a Mama aura?

I don't know how much truth there is to all of that, but if you're curious about auras, you can visit this website to learn more.

    1. Haha! Yes, everyone is going to pull out some white paper and try to see their aura. My daughter was surprised I saw it so quickly. Usually it takes a while, and some people only see white. (My daughter says hers is green.) I most be giving off some intense energy. :)

    1. I tried it on a few things, alive and dead, all showed the same. But silly fun, just the same.

  7. Was that it? Just stare at your finger next to a sheet of paper? Yeah, I'll be trying that if that's all you have to do.

    1. That's it. Have your finger over the sheet of paper, so the background is white. When your eyeballs start getting a little out of focus, you'll see the color. I just did it again today. Still purple.

  8. Cool! Much cooler than finding out who you are going to marry, what car you'll drive and where you'll live. ;)

  10. So, I did it and thought this isn't working and did it four more times because I kept getting brilliant white. Here's what the website said,
"WHITE ~ Pertains to reflecting other energy and protection. It can signal a new energy in the aura, truth, purity, angelic qualities and a healthy individual."
For numerous reasons from my life, this is both exciting and scary to me.

My daughter came in and I had her do it. She had yellow that faded to black.

  11. I've never paid much attention to auras. My husband was once told his aura was a "spout." Apparently there are very few spouts...and the person telling him said Dolly Parton was one of the few others he'd met who were.

    1. What is a spout? That sounds really unusual and strange.

  12. Mine was white (somebody above commented about it) but I also had shades of white which said "possible illness". I didn't use a piece of paper though. I used a white foldable keyboard because I didn't want to get up.

    1. Haha! You didn't want to get up! Well, when you do want to get up, you'll have to try it again. :)

  14. Having stared at a plain piece of white paper for a while it actually worked.

Indigo according to the link you shared. Apparently its the colour of deep feeling, intuition and sensitivity.

    1. You never know about these things, but it does seem accurate, and in line with the personality tests I've done. (I'm an INFJ.)
