As I was perusing the blogosphere, I came across this cool challenge over at my dear friend, Shady's pad. It apparently originated at Doglady's Den. The challenge is to answer a bunch of questions using song titles from an artist. (Has to be the same artist for all of them.) Shady did an awesome job with his. He inspired me to give it a try over here. So, let's see how I do. You guys can guess the artist as you read, and see if you're right. (For a lot of you, you'll probably get it on the first one.)

I do like Billy Joel! Interesting answers, but I don't know all the songs.

Yvonne.
He's kind of an easy one to guess.
DeleteHey Yvonne, I tried to comment on your blog and got the "Comments are restricted to members only." I am a member, so I'm not sure what's going on, again. Hope you're able to fix it.
DeleteLove this! He has so many amazing songs!
ReplyDeleteHe certainly does. He's one very talented guy.
DeleteHi, dear Sherry!
ReplyDeleteHappy April Fool's Day, dear friend! You surprised me with this post, Sherry. I had no idea that you would be inspired by my post to the extent that you would want to take the music challenge yourself. I'm delighted with the result!
I have quite a few Billy Joel songs on the soundtrack of my life. His music videos for "Uptown Girl" and "The Longest Time" were big hits with viewers of the MTV style station where I worked as a producer in the 80s. During that same decade, Joel's "A Matter of Trust" was one of the "anchor songs" of the NLP seminar series with which I worked as a trainer and I used the song in a 60-minute documentary program that I produced.
You did an excellent job with the Music Challenge, dear friend Sherry. I am very thankful that we became friends after all those years of hesitation. Have a wonderful weekend!
I don't think I've ever seen the videos for Uptown Girl and The Longest Time. I'll have to look those up.
DeleteYou produced at 60 minute documentary program? That's really neat! Is it available anywhere, where I can listen to it?
I'm glad we became friends, too. You're an awesome blog buddy!
The documentary was produced in 1987 for the NLP seminar series "Discover the Magic." I was a participant and later a trainer and videographer for the seminar program. The documentary followed 100 families from all over the U.S. and Canada as they gathered at a resort in Florida and took part in the week long seminar course which culminated in the metaphorical nighttime barefoot walk on fire. The documentary was never aired on television. It was instead distributed as a keepsake to all who attended the seminar so that they and their families could watch it the rest of their lives and relive their powerful experiences during seminar week.
DeleteThanks for asking, dear friend Sherry!
Sounds like a great keepsake for the participants. Thanks for explaining!
DeletePiano Man gave that away indeed. He has put out some great songs
ReplyDeleteHe certainly has. Piano Man a great one, too.
DeleteIts an Interesting Challenge ! You did Amazingly well :) I really Loved your Answers :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great Weekend .
Thanks, Anoosha. I had fun doing the challenge.
DeleteWhat a fab exercise. I'm gonna try that out! Sounds like a great de-stresser and lots of fun. Thanks for sharing, Sherry. Have a lovely weekend.
ReplyDeleteGood luck! Pick an artist with lots of songs. It's easier that way.
DeleteYes!.. I thought Billy Joel at first.. but then when it came to New York state of mind I though of Alicia Keys! lol .. okay ..
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend Sherry
Did Alicia Keys do A New York State of Mind? I didn't know that, if she did.
DeleteShady provided a very unique challenge and you performed beautifully. Love Billy Joel's music. Glad you'll "Keep the Faith", Sherry!
ReplyDeleteIt seemed like such a fun challenge, so I simply had to do it. ;)
Deletebilly joel was a great choice! with all those questions, you have to pick someone who's been around a while - fun post!
ReplyDeleteYes, you definitely need a prolific artist, so you have lots of titles to choose from.
DeleteThis looks like fun, but I don't know if I'd be able to come up with answers for all of them. You did very good!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteThis looks like fun, but I don't know if I'd be able to come up with answers for all of them. You did very good!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Chrys. You did very well coming up with songs as answers to the questions. Bravo! Unfortunately, I'd have troubles too, coming up with one artist's list of songs to be able to answer all those questions.
ReplyDeleteYou need an artist who has lots of titles.
DeleteInteresting challenge. Easy when you use an artist as prolific as Billy Joel.
ReplyDeleteYes. I thought about using The Four Seasons, but I decided on Billy Joel.
DeleteWow Sherry, that is commendable... I am not sure if I could come up with that many songs by one artist... I do love Billy Joel but Bryan Adams is my favorite... This a very interesting concept xox
ReplyDeleteI really liked Bryan Adams when I was a teenager. You should try the challenge and see if you can do it with Bryan Adams' titles.
DeleteYou did a great job with this challenge, Sherry! I love Billy Joel too. Can't think of any of his songs I don't like.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Deanie. Yes, I would have a hard time thinking of a song of his I don't like. They're all good.
DeleteI'm a Billy Joel fan, too! And I'm one of the crazy people doing that #atozChallenge again this year.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the A-Z challenge. I'm not doing it this year on any of my blogs. Not enough time.
DeleteThat's sound advice, Sherry. Sound advice.
ReplyDeleteHaha. Yes, it is sound advice. Compliments of Billy Joel.
DeleteAwesome post Sherry! Loved reading it through!
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed it!
DeleteGreat challenge. I love Billy Joel. I have several of his songs in my collection and would like to get more.
ReplyDeleteBilly Joel is a talented guy. I wish he was still recording.
DeleteGreat job with this! I love challenges like this. But honestly, I recognized Billy's work from your first answer. Guess we grew up on the same tunes. :)
ReplyDeleteThat first one was a real giveaway. I bet a lot of people guessed it after the first one.
DeleteThis has been a fun challenge and an original one too. I enjoyed reading your answers.
