Writing Inspirations

This month's IWSG question is, what inspires you when you write a story? I view this as a two-part question. First, the stories themselves are inspired by something. Each of my books was inspired by a life event. That Baby Woke Me Up, AGAIN was inspired by my experiences as a young mom spending many sleepless nights with my babies.  That Mama is a Grouch was born after I tripped over my kids' toys and broke my toe. Even Bubba and Squirt's Big Dig to China was inspired by my desire to dig a hole from Florida to China was I was a kid. (Didn't get very far, because my hole quickly filled up with water.)

The second part of the question is, what inspires me to keep going and finish the story? If you're an author, you know writing a book is hard work. It's one thing to write the first draft. Don't get me wrong—writing the words, THE END is a huge accomplishment! But then you have to revise—to get it as perfect as you can. That's tough!  What inspires me to do that? I guess it's the sense of accomplishment I get when I know my work is ready for publication. And the second thing is knowing readers are enjoying what I've written. It makes all the work worthwhile.

What about you? What inspires you to write and keep writing?

Other news:

I'm very excited about the cover for my next book, Bubba and Squirt's City of Bones, set in the catacombs of Paris, France! It looks fabulous!

And finally, my little girl is graduating from college this weekend! I can't believe it! Where does the time go?

  3. Hi, Sherry!

Merry merry month of May to you, dear friend!

Congratulations to your "baby" daughter, all grown up now and graduating from college! Your happiness is mine, Sherry. Also, I absolutely love the cover art of your new book. It is bound to attract lots of positive attention and generate sales.

Regarding your answer to the Question of the Month, I never realized that all of your books were inspired by actual events from your childhood and experiences as a mother. I am naturally curious, ask many questions and find things that fascinate me everywhere I turn. My inspiration comes from new things learned and insights gained.

I wish you a safe, happy and successful month, dear friend Sherry!

I agree that the feeling of completion when the project is done is a big motivator to keep going during the writing and revising stages.

  15. Just a couple of months ago, I gave this relationship doctor Robinson buckler a try. It was my last hope to get my ex husband back.

Weeks before my ex left me and our 2 children, there were a lot of argument and fighting between me and him. On the day he left me, he told me that he doesn't think he loved me any more and this was not working. I was so devastated hearing this, I begged him not to go and I even promised that I would change. But he made up his mind already. He packed his bags and left our house.

I tried calling him and texting him to tell him I miss him and still love him. I asked him to give us another chance. He slowly stopped replying to my messages and stopped picking up my calls.

I then searched the internet on how to get ex back, and even bought a few products such as text your ex back and ex recovery system. Nothing worked, and my ex was still very cold towards me.

When I was about to give up, I found Robinson buckler ex back program. He is a relationship coach with a lot of success stories. I knew what I needed was not a book but a coach to guide me how to make my ex fall in love with me again. I immediately signed up for his program.

In the first couple of days, I made a lot of good progress. I am happier and more confident. My ex saw the positive changes in me, and started to talk to me more and even asked me out for dates.

Fast forward two weeks later, my ex told me that he wants to give our relationship a second try. I was beyond happy when I heard that.

Now, we are closer and happier together. It would not have happened without Robinson buckler help.
