The Twenty-Six Dollar Burger

My family and I went out to eat at a rather pricey restaurant.  Instead of getting something out of the ordinary, my son opted for a burger.

I looked at the menu. "Twenty-six dollars for a burger?" I said. "This had better be the best burger you've ever  had in your life!"

The burger came. It was quite substantial, but in my opinion, not worth twenty-six dollars. My son ate about half of it. I shook my head. "Are you kidding?" I asked. "You're only going to eat thirteen dollars worth of a twenty-six dollar burger?"

He grinned at me, and picked up the remaining part of the bun. "Well, I could give you a bun in your hair. Then you'll have a thirteen dollar hair-do, which will make up for the part I didn't eat. That's cheap!"

Right. A great deal! Too bad I didn't take it.

  3. I agree. That's a lot for a burger. Kobe beef, perhaps?

    1. I think it was just because it was in a high-end restaurant.

  4. Not a chance I would've let him order. No burger is worth that unless it was Kobe beef.

    1. We were on vacation, so that's the only reason I let him get it.

  5. It would be awful to pay $26 for a burger only for it to give you indigestion. Glad you didn't have a $13 haird do though.

    1. I probably would've spent another $26 undoing the hairdo if I had let him do it!

    1. Yes. I don't think a burger in the hair would be a good thing!

    1. Supposedly, it was one of the best on Hilton Head. But the burger was definitely not worth that much!

  10. Yikes, I've never heard of a $26. burger! Only Bubba would think of using part of it to give you a new look!

  11. Your son is funny... however; I would have been wrapping the burger up and taking it home for his lunch lol... WOW... slightly expensive to say the least xox

  12. Your son sounds so much like my daughter... only for her it was chicken tenders! Thankfully she has learned to enjoy things like shrimp and salmon as she's gotten older.

  23. Oh, my gosh! I thought the title was a tease. Was the burger made out of unicorn meat? How can one burger cost $26.00? That is not a place where I can afford to eat.

  25. Not sure how much $26 was in pounds sterling I had to Google it and discovered $25 was about £16.76. Interesting to know that for a wash, cut and blow dry (plus tip) my last trip to the hairdressers two weeks ago was £23.
