Big Dreams

"Mama," my twelve-year-old son said. "I'm going to buy a yacht."

I looked at the kid. "Really? You're going to need a lot of money to do that!"

"How much?" he asked.

"At least a million dollars," I said.

He didn't believe me, so he had to check it out for himself. He found a nice yacht. It looked like this:

Do you know how much it cost? $99, 950,000.00

"Dude. That's way out of your price range," I said.

"It sounds like a rip-off," he said. "But I still want a yacht."

He walked over to the phone and called one of his buddies. They had a conversation regarding the yacht. After he was done, he came up to me and said, "We've got it all figured out. We're going to split the cost. And if that doesn't work, we're going to buy a cruise ship. Those have to be less expensive than yachts!"

  1. Hi, Sherry!

I have a whole fleet of yachts. The one in the picture belongs to me. I named it The Shady Lady. :)

All it will take for Bubba to join the yacht club is to save his allowance and maybe mow a few lawns this summer. :)

Enjoy the rest of your week, dear friend Sherry!

    1. The Shady Lady is a perfect name for a yacht. My boy will have to do a lot of lawn-mowing if he's going to afford a yacht like yours!

  10. Tell him to buy one with sails cause as expensive as yachts are, those with motors suck fuel and he'll also need a oil refinery

    1. All right. You are the sailing expert, so you should know. I'll steer him to one with sails.

  14. Wow, that's way out of my price range, too. Thank goodness I've never dreamed about owning a yacht, LOL. He'd need hundreds upon hundreds of friends to share the cost of that! Or maybe just one really rich friend... XD

    1. I was thinking he needs the entire school (and maybe two schools), to go in on this one.

  15. I sense a budding entrepreneur here. He doesn't have the cash, so he tries for a partner to share the expenses. Next he'll be negotiating loans.

    1. I think the best thing is to have a friend who owns one. Then you can enjoy it without all the expense.

  26. Thanks for blitzing me :)

I love your son's thinking with his friend to split the cost. It was neat too that you had him go and check out the price of them. I bet his eyes got opened wide when he saw what the asking prices were for some of them :)
