Big Dreamer

"Mama, they should let you sleep in school," my son said after coming home from a long day at the "office."

I raised my eyebrows. "Why? You're supposed to learn in school. You can't learn if you're sleeping."

"But our future depends on big dreams. They need to give us time to sleep so we can have big dreams."

"I thought that was what night was for," I said.

Bubba shook his head. "There's never enough time at night for all the big dreams I have!"

    1. He'd have to go to bed right when he came home from school for that to work!

  2. I loved dreaming as a kid. At night and during the day. Maybe you should tell him about the art of day dreaming. :)

  5. Kid's got a point lol .. I wish naps were required for school/work. Just a midday snooze - I think it'd increase productivity or at least job satisfaction :)

  8. Nicely played, Bubba! Sherry, your son seems to have a witty comeback for everything you say to him and a clever way of getting you to understand his model of the world. He has leadership potential and could have a bright future ahead as a politician. Did anyone ever ask Bubba if he'd like to be president someday... 2016 perhaps? :) Seems like he's already working on his "I Have a Dream" speech! :)

    1. Haha! I bet if he ran in 2016, he'd get elected! He's interested in the military right now. Maybe he'll become a General and forge a path like Eisenhower.

  12. I love it! I remember arguing with my dad, saying he wanted to keep us dumb, because he wasn't letting us watch "Get Smart" on TV

    1. Wouldn't that be funny if he is? He'd probably be the most entertaining president in history!

  15. Had a kiddo today complain that school started too early. I agree with him, but that didn't make me let him sleep in class.

    1. I really do not like how early school starts. In my opinion, it should not start before 8:00 AM. Most kids aren't fully awake before then.
