One Lovely Blog Award
I am just so amazed by how many awards are floating around out there. Another one landed at my pad. It's the One Lovely Blog Award. Thanks, Jenni Steel for giving me this lovely award! Be sure to visit her blog.
According to the rules, I'm supposed to list seven random facts about myself. This might be a little challenging, since you already know a lot about me. But, I'll try anyway. Here we go:
1. I'm a freeze baby. Yep. I hate the cold. And I'm one of those nutcases who can still be quite comfortable wearing jeans and a long sleeved shirt when it's eighty degrees outside.
2. Supposedly, I have an IQ of 141 (measured when I was ten). Does that make me smart, or stupid, or doesn't it matter? (I reckon I've probably lost a few points anyway, since I'm getting so old!)
3. I slept only 0-4 hours per night for 4 years when my kids were babies. Believe me, I wasn't too thrilled about it. The good news, is that it inspired me to write my first book, That Baby Woke Me Up, AGAIN! So began my career as an author.
4. My second book, That Mama is a Grouch, was inspired after I broke a toe, tripping on my kid's toys.
5. I haven't had a haircut in about 8 months, which means my hair is considerably longer than in my picture. Hmmm. I better do something about that, or I'll be looking like a mountain woman soon.
6. I'm very near-sighted. My prescription is -7.5 in both eyes. (Aren't you glad I told you that?)
7. My favorite popsicle flavor is grape.
Were those random enough? Now I have to pass this award on to seven more lovely bloggers. Be sure to stop by and visit them.
1. Zantippy Skiphop
2. Elysabeth42
3. J. L. Campbell
4. Liz Fichera
5. Elizabeth Twist
6. jdracecar
7. Laura Josephsen
Again, I'm sorry about the run-on paragraph. Maybe someday Blogger will fix the problem!

My body doesn't freeze, but my feet do! I wear socks all summer, even when living in the south. And I love the titles of your books. :D
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the award!!
Also, I can't find an email address for you (I might just not be looking in the right places), but I wanted to let you know that I don't yet have five people for the ten page edit for the RAOK blitz. If you want to send me your ten pages, you can email them to me at laurajosephsen87@gmail.com. :)
Thanks for the edit! You did a great job!
DeleteHi Sherry, and thanks!
ReplyDeleteI thought that was so cool when I first came to your blog and saw what inspired your first book. I never know if I can call new parents, afraid of waking them up!
Wow there are so many lovely blogs out there...need to write a list.
LOL. Go ahead and ask the parents if it's okay to call. They're probably up, anyway!
DeleteI'm so glad you did this because the other day I was trying to find my way back here, and to another person's blog, too, but got waylaid by the way Google threads things around. Then just ended up lost. I'm finally learning to just go down my list on the dashboard LOL!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you made it back!
DeleteThank you for the lovely award! And I can totally relate to the need for a haircut. :)
ReplyDeleteLOL! I'm going on Friday to get my tresses trimmed. It's just amazing how time gets away from me!
DeleteYes!! I'm not a fan of the cold as well! People look at me funny when I wear long sleeves on hot days, lol.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your award :)
Thanks. I figure, I'm going to be a ninety-year-old woman someday, with the heat cranked up to ninety in my house - and I'll probably still be cold!
DeleteLack of sleep makes a person crazy, but it's neat you wrote a book because of it! I hate being cold. I'm wearing snuggy warm socks right now because my feet get so cold. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteI think I have permanent damage from my lack of sleep. My brain hasn't been the same since!
DeleteCongrats! Loved reading your facts, even though I guess I'm strange in that I'd much rather be too cold than too warm. LOL
ReplyDeleteI'd rather be too cold, too. At least you can pile on more clothes or blankets.
DeleteWhat a lovely award!
ReplyDeleteI too am a freeze baby, but am fortunate to enjoy an all-year-round sub-tropical climate...
I only experience real cold weather for about 4 months of the year, though most of the "cold" days would be equivalent to what you might regard as a "mild summer day"...
I think I need to relocate to someplace warmer. Although, I can't really complain too much in the summer. It gets hot here!
DeleteI've often wondered if we lose IQ points as we age. And my wife is really thin - she's always freezing.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the award!
Thanks! I think I've lost quite a few IQ points. Sometimes I even wonder if I have a brain!
DeleteHi Sherry! CONGRATS on your award!
ReplyDeleteHi Sherry! Thanks for the award! I'll earn my keep by posting about it now. Better late than never, right?
ReplyDeleteYour mention of grape popsicles conjured up such a strong memory of eating them when I was a kid. I remember racing around with other kids comparing coloured tongues. Grape always gave the most impressive tongue stain.
