This morning, as I was going about my usual morning routine, I was thinking about all the things I had to get done. When that happens, I really don't pay too much attention to anything that's going on around me.
I went into my son's room and opened the window blinds. After they were opened, I heard a voice. It came from the bed. "Why is it so bright in here?"
Oops. Bubba was still in bed. Sleeping. He opened a groggy eye and looked at me.
"Uh, sorry about that," I said, quickly closing the blinds. "Go back to sleep. Mama is just on automatic pilot!"
Depending on what time it was, maybe he should get his butt out of bed...
ReplyDeleteI think it was 7:30 AM. Since it's summer, I let him sleep longer. He's catching up on all the lost sleep from getting up at the crack of dawn during the school year.
DeleteI hated when I would get woken up like that. I could handle being woken up, but being blinded by the sun always made me want to hide under the covers. My mom would be on automatically pilot a lot also but she called it "tunnel vision" because she couldn't see anything else. lol
ReplyDeleteIt' a mom problem. Too much on our minds!
DeleteAutomatic pilot, ha.
ReplyDeleteI'm on automatic pilot a lot! :)
Deleteyou need a steward
ReplyDeleteCan I have some peanuts?
DeleteHaha! You two are funny!
DeleteSummer time is so tough on the kids...;-)
ReplyDeleteAll that sleeping in is really rough!
DeleteI accidentally delete emails when I'm on automatic pilot, because I grab for my phone first thing since I use its alarm. Then I have to go in the trash or archive to retrieve the important ones.
ReplyDeleteThat would be a pain! Hopefully that doesn't happen often.
DeleteWell he wasn't planning how to "Get Mum" if he was sleeping, but one never knows what he was dreaming about.
ReplyDeleteYvonne.
H tells me some of his dreams. They're fascinating
DeleteAt least he will awaken without a brass band by his bed. If sleeping were an Olympic sport my oldest would have won the gold by a snore!
ReplyDeleteHaha! Sounds like it may have been a little tough to sleep at your house.
Deletelol waking him up in summer, how rude
ReplyDeleteBad mama!
DeleteHum mother got a new name. Mama should be carefull next time.
ReplyDeleteI'll try not to be on automatic pilot when I go into my kids' bedrooms.
DeleteHey Norbu, the link to your last blog isn't working. Not sure what happened there.
DeleteAutopilot will get you through the day sometimes!
ReplyDeleteKeeps you on task when needed
ReplyDeleteIt does.
DeleteIf he's like my kids, he fell right back to sleep and probably didn't even remember it happened later.
ReplyDeleteThat's usually how it is, but he was just about ready to get up anyway.
DeleteHaha, hope he was able to go back to sleep. i tend to go straight to coffee machine when I'm on automatic pilot.
ReplyDeleteSounds like my husband!
DeleteI was going to ask what time that was, but 7:30 is early for kiddos in the summer. Oops.
ReplyDeleteI'M with you on the auto-pilot. Very easy to get into the groove.
