A week or so ago, Schultz, our German Shepherd, had a brush with some paint. This time, it was our cat's turn.
The big project this past weekend, was staining our deck. My husband was outside in the sweltering heat, doing it. When he was done, he put up all kinds of signs indicating that nobody should walk on it.
Apparently, our cat, Bootsy, didn't read the signs. He tried to climb on the deck. My husband caught him and chased him away. That didn't stop the crazy cat from trying again.
A couple of hours later, my husband spotted him on top of the rail, in his favorite napping spot.
"Come take a look at your cat," he said.
I looked out the window. There he was in all his glory, with stain splotches covering his fur coat. I shook my head and went over to the sliding doors. Little paw prints could be seen on the stain. I opened the door and stuck my head out. "Bootsy, what do you think you're doing?"
He opened his eyes, stared at me for two seconds, and then resumed his nap.
Talk about some cattitude! I think I need to send him to the dog house!
Did you have to bathe him? Because there is nothing more frightening than trying to bathe a cat.
ReplyDeleteBootsy hates baths! I'm just going to leave him alone. it's not too bad, and I'm sure he'll shed it off.
DeleteCat paw prints are all the rage now...;-)
ReplyDeleteWe painted over them, but they were kind of cute!
DeleteHow did you get the little bugger clean? And did your husband repaint? Or leave the paw prints?
ReplyDeleteLittle bugger still has some on him, but it's not bad. We painted over the paw prints. It's dry now, so you can't see them.
DeleteAt least that stain is in a design completely unique to anyone else?
ReplyDeleteYes. Unless someone else had the same problem with their cat.
DeleteAt least the stain is now unique
ReplyDeleteIt had a little character.
DeleteCats have a mind of their own, I well remember the antics of my cat Tabitha.Great read Sherry.
ReplyDeleteYvonne.
Cats definitely have a mind of their own!
DeleteCats are always upto some mischief or other.
ReplyDeleteTrue!
DeleteCats will be cats!
ReplyDeleteThey can sure have some attitude!
Deletewill you be posting photos?
ReplyDeleteNo. The paw prints are covered now, and Bootsy doesn't look too bad. It would be kind of like the paint on Schultz's ear.
DeleteIt's so hard to keep things pristine with animals, but I can't live without them.
ReplyDeleteThey are unbelievably messy! I get so tired of all the hair everywhere - especially in the summer when they shed.
DeleteI had a cat named Bootsy when I was a kid. :)
ReplyDeleteGotta love that cat attitude.
My kids named him.:)
DeleteCattitude has to be one of the greatest, and most accurately descriptive, words ever inventered!
ReplyDeleteAt least your deck (and Bootsy!) are uniquely decorated, lol.
Yes. They are definitely uniquely decorated.
DeleteCats: can package "Screw you" in a cute body.
ReplyDeleteHaha! That's pretty much what my husband says about the cat!
DeleteAs soon as you had to tell the cat no, you were doomed.
ReplyDeleteYes. Bootsy doesn't accept "no" for an answer. :)
DeleteNow he needs a bath. A fitting punishment.
ReplyDeleteThe trick would be catching him without getting all scratched up. He hates baths!
DeleteThe deck might have been quite warm.
ReplyDeleteIt was, but Bootsy found a shady spot.
DeleteWas it hard to wash the paint off?
ReplyDeleteYeah, I think it's safe to assume that animals ignore signs.
I didn't bother. He'll shed off the fur, and it wasn't too bad.
Deleteso now he has nail polish on his nails?
ReplyDeleteAre Schultzie's ears still coloured?
Schultz's ears a normal again. It took a few days to wear off. (A bath didn't help.) Bootsy probably has painted paws. I am not motivated to give that cat bath! He's impossible!
DeleteHow hard was it get the stains off? Naught cat!
ReplyDeleteI think they're still on him feet, but it's all dry, so I'm sure it will wear off.
DeleteStill happy, even with the new color
ReplyDeleteHe's probably the most fashionable cat in the neighborhood!
DeleteA cat gotta do what a cat gotta do.
ReplyDeleteYep. He needed his nap!
DeleteOf course the cat went exactly where you didn't want him to go...they like to show us who the boss is :-) .... ♡
ReplyDeleteYes. Cat is always in charge. ;)
DeleteYou what they say, "curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought him back!"
ReplyDeleteHaha! There was a lot of satisfaction there . . . for the cat!
DeleteBootsy wants to make as many headlines as Schultz does. :)
ReplyDeleteMaybe he needs a reading tutor.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Definitely! Would you like the job?
DeleteHahaha! Love to see a shot of the cat, Sherry! xoxo
ReplyDeleteSorry, no picture, but he looked ridiculous!
DeleteCats. Love the attitude. Hate the shedding.
ReplyDeleteYes! Bootsy is doing a mega shed right now. What a mess!
DeleteGuess the cat left his mark. Haha! #kneeslapper
ReplyDeleteHaha! You're a funny one! :)
DeleteWhat a great name for a cat.
ReplyDeleteMy kids came up with that one. I thought it was pretty good, too.
DeleteI know a rhyming cat who would do the exact same thing.
