Painted Cat

A week or so ago, Schultz, our German Shepherd, had a brush with some paint. This time, it was our cat's turn.

The big project this past weekend, was staining our deck. My husband was outside in the sweltering heat, doing it. When he was done, he put up all kinds of signs indicating that nobody should walk on it.

Apparently, our cat, Bootsy, didn't read the signs. He tried to climb on the deck. My husband caught him and chased him away. That didn't stop the crazy cat from trying again.

A couple of hours later, my husband spotted him on top of the rail, in his favorite napping spot.
"Come take a look at your cat," he said.

I looked out the window. There he was in all his glory, with stain splotches covering his fur coat. I shook my head and went over to the sliding doors. Little paw prints could be seen on the stain. I opened the door and stuck my head out. "Bootsy, what do you think you're doing?"

He opened his eyes, stared at me for two seconds, and then resumed his nap.

Talk about some cattitude! I think I need to send him to the dog house!

  1. Did you have to bathe him? Because there is nothing more frightening than trying to bathe a cat.

    1. Bootsy hates baths! I'm just going to leave him alone. it's not too bad, and I'm sure he'll shed it off.

  3. How did you get the little bugger clean? And did your husband repaint? Or leave the paw prints?

    1. Little bugger still has some on him, but it's not bad. We painted over the paw prints. It's dry now, so you can't see them.

    1. No. The paw prints are covered now, and Bootsy doesn't look too bad. It would be kind of like the paint on Schultz's ear.

    1. They are unbelievably messy! I get so tired of all the hair everywhere - especially in the summer when they shed.

  11. Cattitude has to be one of the greatest, and most accurately descriptive, words ever inventered!

At least your deck (and Bootsy!) are uniquely decorated, lol.

  15. Was it hard to wash the paint off?

Yeah, I think it's safe to assume that animals ignore signs.

    1. I didn't bother. He'll shed off the fur, and it wasn't too bad.

    1. Schultz's ears a normal again. It took a few days to wear off. (A bath didn't help.) Bootsy probably has painted paws. I am not motivated to give that cat bath! He's impossible!
